Yardville is a unincorporated community located within Hamilton Township in Mercer County, New Jersey. This small historic village dates back to the late 17th century when Quaker settlers arrived and established farms and mills along the Crosswicks Creek. Many of Yardville's street names like Quaker Bridge Road and Quakerbridge Road reflect this Quaker influence.

At the heart of Yardville is the Main Street historic district, where several buildings from the 18th and 19th centuries are still standing. The Tindall House and Watson House are excellent examples of Federal-style architecture from the early 1800s. The Yeardville Grist Mill, built in 1712, operated for over 250 years grinding grain using power from the Crosswicks Creek before closing in the 1960s.

While Yardville was a separate town for much of its history, it was eventually absorbed into Hamilton Township in the mid-20th century as the suburbs grew around Trenton. However, Yardville has maintained its distinct identity as a village within the larger township. Annual events like the Grist Mill Craft Fair and fall festivals help keep Yardville's heritage alive.

Today, Yardville serves as a quiet residential neighborhood within the bustle of Hamilton. Its location right off Interstate 195 gives residents easy access to major employment hubs like Trenton and Princeton. The Grounds for Sculpture sculpture park, one of Mercer County's top attractions, is located just outside Yardville.

With its rich history, beautiful old homes, and closeness to modern amenities, Yardville offers a glimpse into early American life in modern suburban New Jersey. This small village pays tribute to New Jersey's past even as it embraces the future as part of a dynamic region.
